The Method

The situated Cognitive Engineering method consists of specific parts to support the development process. The following diagram shows these parts and their relations.

General overview situated Cognitive Engineering

  • Objectives describe the target outcomes
  • Use cases define the structure of actors actions and provide the (formal) contextualization (who, when, where)
  • Requirements describe the functions of the system (what the system shall do)
  • Claims define the expected effects of these situated functions, providing the justification (why)
